Render a 3D Text in Blender.

I have been testing some Blender lighting and shading settings for rendering a 3D text, and the picture down is what I've got, A neat and Toonish style result, I quite like it.

You might think I achieve this look by using Toon shaders, however I used the Lambert diffuse shader and Cooktorr specular shader, and the letter's outline is a combination of the extruded & beveled text and lightings, see the screenshot below.

FPS map 1st prototype

I did some test and made one room for the FPS game, you can see it below (baked shadow applied as well), however, I found out this isn't the style or look & feel that I'm looking for... I think it's mainly caused by the texture and lighting I used. I will try to make the style more like futuristic kind of environment to see if it's going to be better!

FPS Player Model Update

Some updates of the FPS game:

The player's model and some simple animation (like when he run, jump, die, etc.) of the player are basically finished. You can find some screenshots below, and later on I will update the map prototype!

FPS Map!

These days I'm working on the design of the FPS game map. So I viewed some of the Quake3 maps for reference, and most of them are custom maps that have been made by users and fans of the game. They are amazing… Very nice themes, modeling, textures, connectivity and item placement. Building a map is easy, but doing a good neat job to make the game enjoyable takes the combination of all elements above if not more.

And I'm building the map with Blender to be able to use it in our own FPS game. I hope we will be able to release this game and it's source code soon!
